ROLE



A Splicer plays a critical role responsible for splicing, installing, maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting and testing to ensure high-quality standards for network performance and reliability. This position requires a combination of technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in various outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

Perform splicing tasks in various outdoor settings, including aerial, underground, and building entries. Read, interpret, and update network maps, splice schematics, and engineering field notes. Use equipment, including fusion splicers, OTDRs (Optical Time Domain Reflectometers), power meters, and light sources to ensure optimal network performance. Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of links to identify and resolve issues such as breaks, bends, or bad splices. Ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies, and safety regulations during all operations. Coordinate with other team members and departments to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects. Provide accurate and detailed documentation of completed work, including splicing and testing results. Participate in on-call rotation for emergency repairs and maintenance outside of normal working hours. Stay updated on the latest technology and splicing techniques through continuous learning and professional development

Requirements

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent; some college or technical school coursework in telecommunications, electronics, or related field is preferred. Previous experience in splicing, telecommunications, or a similar field is highly desirable but not required. Basic understanding of telecommunications network
