Overview

We are seeking a skilled Fiber Splicer to join our team, responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic and telecommunication networks. This role requires a strong understanding of fiber splicing, network infrastructure, and low voltage electrical systems. The ideal candidate will have experience working in field service environments, and utilizing various hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

Perform fiber optic splicing and termination with precision to ensure optimal network performance Splice Fiber using a fusion splicer Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks safely for elevated work tasks Use hand tools and power tools to install, repair, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables and related network components Read schematics and technical diagrams to accurately execute installation and repair procedures Conduct testing of fiber connections using appropriate testing equipment to verify integrity and performance Climb ladders or structures safely to access elevated work areas for cable installation or repairs Follow safety protocols related to electrical work, construction sites, and working at heights Document work performed accurately in accordance with project requirements

Experience

Proven experience in fiber splicing and telecommunication cabling projects Hands-on experience with field service operations involving fiber optics and network infrastructure Knowledge of electrical systems, low voltage wiring, Ethernet LANs, WANs, and telephony is preferred Familiarity with schematics, technical diagrams, and construction standards related to telecommunications Ability to operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks safely and effectively Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and climbing equipment in construction or utility environments Prior work involving IT infrastructure setup or maintenance is a plus Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot network issues efficiently

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $18.00 - $35.00 per hour
