We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fiber Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic networks to ensure seamless high-speed connectivity for our clients. Duties

Perform fiber splicing and termination to connect fiber optic cables accurately and efficiently. Install network infrastructure including fiber optic cables, Ethernet cabling, and telephony systems in various environments. Set up and configure Cisco routers and other networking equipment to ensure optimal network performance. Conduct routine inspections of cabling pathways, enclosures, and network hardware to identify potential issues before they impact service. Use hand tools such as cable cutters, crimpers, and ohmmeters to test electrical continuity and troubleshoot low voltage systems. Assist with the installation of telecommunication systems, including voice (telephony) and data (Ethernet) networks. Apply mechanical knowledge to assemble, secure, and maintain cable trays, enclosures, and other infrastructure components. Follow safety protocols related to electrical work and low voltage systems while working in various field environments. Document all work performed through detailed reports, including splicing records, installation logs, and troubleshooting steps. Communicate effectively with team members and clients during site visits to ensure project specifications are met on time.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a service technician or field technician within the telecommunication or networking industry. Strong knowledge of fiber splicing techniques and network installation procedures. Familiarity with Cisco routers, switches, Ethernet cabling, and telephony systems. Hands-on experience with computer networking concepts such as IP addressing, routing protocols, and network troubleshooting. Ability to use hand tools effectively for cabling work and electrical testing devices like ohmmeters. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical diagrams and mechanical drawings related to cabling infrastructure. Electrical experience or background working with low voltage systems is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail during inspections or troubleshooting activities. Valid field service experience working in diverse environments such as commercial buildings or outdoor sites. Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients on project progress or issues encountered.
