Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced

Fiber Operations Lead

to manage and execute data center fiber projects across multiple locations. This position requires extensive travel (approximately 90%) and hands-on leadership to ensure quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction in high-demand environments.

Requirements

Extensive experience with

fusion splicing

, including ribbon and hyperscale-grade work. Strong background in

data center operations

, with working knowledge of standards, labeling, and uptime procedures. Proficiency in

fiber testing and troubleshooting

using OTDR, power meter, and related tools (Viavi or EXFO). Proven ability to

lead and mentor

a crew of 5-6 technicians with a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and efficiency. Excellent

communication and client-facing skills

, with confidence during walkthroughs, inspections, and project acceptance. Exceptional

organizational and documentation skills

, ensuring accountability and timely reporting. Willingness and ability to

travel up to 90%

nationwide, including extended stays at project sites as required.

Key Duties

Supervise and coordinate daily

fiber installation, splicing, and testing

activities on-site. Ensure full compliance with

project specifications

, quality standards, and

safety requirements

. Train, guide, and evaluate technicians to maintain consistent workmanship. Oversee all

testing, documentation, and reporting

deliverables for completed work. Act as the

on-site client representative

, managing walkthroughs, audits, and final project acceptance. Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders to meet

deadlines and performance goals

across multiple locations.
