JOB SUMMARY

The Recovery House Manager, under the direction of the Assistant Vice President of Integrated & Behavioral Health, is responsible for managing and coordinating daily activities of the residential center. This individual works directly with residents in early recovery, providing structure and support to residents seeking to establish long-term recovery from a substance use disorder. This individual manages and coordinates daily housekeeping tasks, leads weekly House Meetings, conducts inspections, and searches of residents and visitors. This individual will directly supervise support staff responsible for night and weekend operations, cleaning, maintenance and transportation services. This individual serves as the program's Safety Committee Representative. This individual completes inventory and ordering of supplies, within established budgets in coordination with other supervisory staff. This individual will work closely with other supervisory and administrative staff to ensure efficient and high-quality service provision for all persons served by the program.


As the residential center opens, the Recovery House Manager must be flexible and support the team in successful launch and scaling of services.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



Support the Assistant Vice President of Integrated & Behavioral Health in the successful design and implementation of programming across American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) residential levels of care (3.5, 3.3, and 3.1) and aftercare peer support services. Work closely with other supervisory and residential center staff to ensure the provision of team-based care for all persons served is high quality, efficient, and in compliance with all accreditation and funding source requirements. Work directly with residents in early recovery, providing structure and support to residents seeking to establish long-term recovery from a substance use disorder. Provide onboarding, training, ongoing supervision of the support staff to ensure support staff are creating and maintaining a recovery-oriented environment based on the principles of Therapeutic Communities. With the Assistant Vice President of Integrated and Behavioral, ensure all operational policies and procedures, training manuals, other supportive training documents, resources and succession plans are updated on a timely basis to ensure accuracy for staff. Manage support staff schedule, ensuring 24/7/365 coverage of operational functions required per Louisiana Department of Health Behavioral Health Standards, including adequate coverage over holidays and during Emergency Operation Plan enactments. Ensure residents, staff and visitors sign in and out of building in and are searched in compliance with program policy and procedures. Ensure resident egress from facility with approved passes. Ensure resident access to phones, mail, packages and visitors with approved passes. Address all incoming phone calls in compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 requirements. Record accurate and detailed messages. Facilitate communication of messages to appropriate staff. Lead weekly House Meetings with residents to ensure clear communication between residents and staff related to any house matters such as maintenance, chores and/or behavioral concerns. Complete all duties required as the program's Safety Committee Representative, including but not limited to First Aid Checklists, Health & Safety Surveys and Safety Drills. Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of facility within established budgets. Assign and track completion of resident chores. Address resident concerns promptly as needed. Ensure transportation services are arranged as needed with residents. Assign only approved drivers to transport residents if van driver is unavailable and/or support coordination of alternative transportation as needed. Utilize concurrent documentation and record accurate information in the EHR of each person served within 1 business day. Ensure accurate, timely, and quality data entry is completed by supervisees. Ensure documentation is completed in compliance with all accreditation and funding source requirements. Facilitate ordering of needed supplies within established budget, in coordination with other supervisory staff and/or Assistant Vice President of Integrated & Behavioral Health. Responsible for ensuring that all policies, procedures and practices of VOASELA and all governmental regulatory agencies are met. Perform additional duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Non-essential)



Ensure VOASELA and program staff create and maintain a recovery-oriented environment based on the principles of Therapeutic Communities. Provides support to all program activities, including Child Watch. Adhere to the designated dress code as stipulated for the specific role. VOASELA maintains an alcohol and drug-free workplace, with a workforce free of substance use.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:




This position requires knowledge, skills and abilities equivalent to:

High school diploma or equivalent. (Preferred) Lived experience with a substance use disorder diagnosis with at least 12 months (24-36 months or more preferred) of continuous demonstrated recovery. Registered Peer Support Specialist credential preferred. At least 2 years of experience working with women experiencing substance use disorders. At least 1 year of supervisory experience. Familiarity with trauma-informed and culturally sensitive practices. Extensive knowledge of the substance uses disorder continuum of care available in the Greater New Orleans area. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Advanced computer skills. Advanced skills within Electronic Health Systems. Ability to interact with staff at all levels in a respectful manner, remaining flexible, proactive, and task oriented. Problem-solving ability, attention to detail, accuracy, flexibility, reliability, and prioritizing skills. Must be able to maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2. Must be able to pass a criminal history investigation (not all convictions will exclude candidates from being hired). Must pass drug screening tests as required by agency's policies and procedures. Must complete tuberculosis (TB) screening prior to employment and be free from Tuberculosis (TB) in a communicable state via skin testing (or chest exam if recommended by physician). Must be able to maintain First Aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and seizure assessment training. This position provides services in office. This position is responsible for enactment of the agency and programs's Emergency Operations Plan during emergencies, such as hurricanes or inclement weather, which may require evacuation and/or shelter in place with persons served and staff. This position may transport persons served rarely using personal or agency vehicle.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:



The Recovery House Manager schedule is Tuesday - Saturday 12-8:30p. This position is responsible for ensuring overnight, weekend and holiday coverage for the residential center, and will require flexibility to provide coverage if needed.




This position may require the incumbent to engage in occasional local travel in and around the community appropriate to the performance of duties and responsibilities. As such, incumbent must have:

WORKING CONDITIONS




Work is primarily performed in an office environment while seated at a desk. Dexterity is used while performing work with personal computer keyboard, calculator and other office equipment. Driving to local (rarely) and some state-wide (rarely) functions.
