Job Description

Job Summary

The operator is responsible for manufacturing feed in accordance with standard operating procedures established at the feed mill. The operator will be responsible for operating the equipment required to receive ingredients, grind grains, mix and bag feed. The operator will operate the processing equipment according to established standard operating procedures. In addition to feed manufacturing the operator will perform housekeeping activities, maintenance and repair of equipment, and quality checks on feed and ingredients. The operator is responsible for compliance with all company policies, local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.

Essential Duties

Operate manufacturing equipment

Manufacture feed in accordance with quality assurance policies, standard operating procedures and Current Good Manufacturing Practices

Sample ingredients and performs quality assurance tests

Collect feed samples in accordance with sampling plan

Perform preventive maintenance on equipment

Perform routine housekeeping

Operate forklift

Comply with all company policies

Comply with all local, state and federal laws, and regulations

Additional Duties

Operate a forklift

Perform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

A minimum requirement of a high school degree or equivalent

Knowledge of feed manufacturing equipment operation and maintenance

Ability to lift 60 pounds, climb ladders and operate a pallet jack with 2,000 pounds of material

Job Type: Full-time

Base Pay: From $21.00 per hour
