Job Requirements:
Must have farm experience (could be in any crop, but row crop experience is preferred)
Preferably has warehouse experience.
Must have management experience, specifically directing crews.
Must be driven, sharp, hardworking, with a strong work ethic and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Must demonstrate a strong ability to learn and adapt quickly; and confident managing large crews.
Must be conversational in Spanish
Must be able to work onsite Bliss, ID(Relocate before starting work)
Job Responsibilities:
Main areas of work (drip irrigation, seed/plants, chemical application, fertilizer application, warehouse, office support)
You can expect to work 50% out in the field, 50% in the warehouse/office.
Confidently lead large crews, foster teamwork, and drive productivity through clear communication and strong leadership.
Harvest Season
- The most demanding time of year, from July to the end of October. More flexibility is granted the rest of the year. Some of your important duties/characteristics are the following:
Lend support where needed and be willing to be a 'jack of all trades.'
Run 4 sorting lines during harvest (watermelon, sweet corn, pumpkins)
Office paperwork, process trucks, run DSD program, help locate trucks and assist in the administration of food safety.
Spring / Summer Season
- Assist in drip irrigation set-up and managing inputs, such as: seed, plants, chemical and fertilizer.
Oversee greenhouses (water, fertilizer, temperature, general organization & tracking)
Shipment and some delivery of: plastic, drip, filters, and plants to field
Receiving (plants, drip, plastic, parts)
Manage crews for installing drip irrigation systems and order irrigation parts
Organize and keep sheds stocked
Manage chemicals and liquid fertilizer
Ensure applications are recorded correctly and create SOPs for spraying chemicals
Winter Season
- Manage the following
Sales, order packaging, work on freight deals, and inventory
Design upcoming drip irrigation
Order drip tape/plastic/drip systems
Plant and seed ordering
