Responsibilities

Supervise daily farm and kennel activities, ensuring all animals receive proper care, feeding, grooming, and enrichment. Lead and train staff in animal handling techniques, pet grooming, dog training, and kennel procedures to promote best practices. Oversee animal intake and discharge processes, including pet sitting arrangements and veterinary appointments. Maintain detailed records of animal health, behavior, and treatments; coordinate with veterinary professionals as needed. Ensure the cleanliness and safety of all kennels, farm areas, and surrounding facilities through regular inspections and sanitation protocols. Handle animal restraint safely during examinations or grooming sessions while demonstrating compassion and patience. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing pet owners' questions or concerns with professionalism and enthusiasm. Manage inventory of pet supplies, grooming tools, medications, and other essential items to ensure smooth operations. Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to equipment or supplies to support daily activities efficiently. Promote a positive team environment by motivating staff members and fostering ongoing training in animal care techniques.

Qualifications

Proven experience in kennel management or farm operations with a strong background in animal handling. Knowledge of dog training methods and veterinary procedures; veterinary technician or assistant experience is highly desirable. Skilled in pet grooming, pet sitting, dog training, livestock and general animal care practices to ensure the highest standards of welfare. Demonstrated ability to handle animals safely using restraint techniques appropriate for different species. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients. Physical stamina for heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and performing outdoor tasks in various weather conditions. Familiarity with veterinary procedures or veterinary experience enhances your ability to support health-related needs effectively. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Pay: $21.25 - $33.65 per hour
