Position Overview
The
Farm Experience & Operations Assistant
is a hands-on, dynamic position ideal for animal lovers who enjoy variety in their work. This role blends animal care, farm maintenance, and guest engagement to help create memorable experiences for every visitor. You'll care for our cows, yaks, horses, reindeer, donkeys, alpacas, and rabbits through daily feeding, grooming, and interaction, while also playing a key role in hosting farm tours, school visits, and special events. From leading tours to driving the tractor wagon, this position supports the smooth operation of daily farm life. The ideal candidate is reliable, outgoing, and enthusiastic about working outdoors with both animals and people.
Requirements
Must be 18 or older to apply.
Applicants 21 years of age or older strongly preferred due to operating certain equipment and vehicles.
Prior livestock handling experience

Prior manual labor experience

Reliable transportation to and from the workplace is required
Ability to perform physical farm work, including repeatedly lifting 75+ lbs
Tractor operation and handling experience
strongly preferred
Friendly, personable, and comfortable leading or speaking to groups of approximately 20-40 guests during tours
Strong work ethic and ability to manage a variety of hands-on farm tasks
Previous people management or supervisory experience is a plus
Key Responsibilities
Lead engaging farm tours for groups of all sizes, sharing fun and educational facts about our animals
Drive the tractor and wagon (training provided if needed)
Prepare for tours and ensure cleanup afterward
Supervise and support volunteers assisting with animal care
Assist with daily farm operations, including:
o Daily infrastructure farm projects o Feeding animals
o Stall and pasture cleaning
o Fence repairs and maintenance
o Animal handling and enrichment activities
o Groundskeeping to ensure the farm looks welcoming for guests
Ideal Candidate
Passionate about animals and nature
Comfortable and enthusiastic about working outdoors in all weather conditions while assisting with farm infrastructure and projects
Comfortable working with (or eager to learn how to work with) large animals
Strong communication skills and ability to engage groups with enthusiasm
Great customer service mindset--welcoming visitors to the farm with warmth and professionalism
Comfortable with physical, outdoor work (lifting, walking, cleaning)
Reliable, flexible, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
Willing to get dirty, work hard, and embrace the unpredictability of farm life
