Purpose & Impact:

The Family support staff is responsible for providing Center orientation to new families and providing direct assistance to families that require additional support in completing applications or referral consents. The position will assist in the implementation and facilitation of family support programming and facilitating center-driven programming and events.

Essential Functions:

• Assist in the development and implementation of family support programming.
• Provide Center orientation to new families.
• Provide direct assistance to families that require additional support in completing applications or referral consents.
• Refer and link families to appropriate programs and community resources as needed.
• Coordinate and facilitate Center-driven programming and events.
• Support partner agencies with program registration and follow-up.
• Support the efforts of all CBFRC staff.
• Document services, maintain records, complete reports, purchase supplies, input data into a database system.
• Ensure the Center is a safe warm welcoming environment for all.
• Maintain a cooperative working relationship with co-workers, supervisors, families, partners, and the community.
• Work to support Center and collaborative outcomes.
• Follow all CBFRC Policies and Procedures.
• Perform targeted outreach as needed.
• Perform daily operating procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Other:

• Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service population\xe2\x80\x99s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs.
• Understand the value and foundation of the Protective Factors framework.
• Practice Family Support Principles
• Cross-trained to perform daily operating procedures.
• Participate in Center events and work to support contractual outcomes.
• Obtain training in the Center data system: Attendance and Needs Tracking System and maintain member confidentiality.
• Bilingual employees may be needed to review and/or translate (verbal or written communications)
• Attend mandatory training and perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

• Must have a high level of energy, positive attitude, and adaptability to irregular hours.
• Work flexible hours to include some evenings and Saturdays.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Associate degree preferred.

Experience:

A minimum of two years of experience in serving families.

Skills:

The Specialist will be knowledgeable in community resources to assist in implementing strength-based family programming and facilitating center-driven programming or events.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Reports to Center Manager
• Team player with co-workers and administrators
• Accurate complete and timely submission of required documents and reports.
• Liaison with community providers.
• Adherence to agency policies and procedures.
• Must maintain the confidentiality of all client information.
