: Executive Assistant



FLSA Status: Nonexempt (Hourly)

Reports To: Recreation Manager

Temporary (90 Days): This position is initially offered as a 90-day temporary position, with the possibility to transition into a permanent role based on business needs and successful performance.

1. Summary



The Facility Attendant supports the day-to-day operations of Recreation Centers 1 and 2, including event setup, facility monitoring, renter assistance, and basic pool operations and cleanliness tasks. The position is also responsible for functioning as a Backup Lifeguard as needed and must obtain lifeguard certification within the required timeframe. The role ensures that the Association's recreation facilities and pool remain clean, safe, well-organized, and professionally operated for members, guests, and renters.

2.0 Essential Duties and Responsibilities



2.1 Facility Event Support



Perform pre-event setup including tables, chairs, and required room layouts.

Conduct pre- and post-event walkthroughs with renters to verify and document facility condition.

Monitor renters to ensure compliance with facility rules (e.g., no alcohol, occupancy limits, proper use of amenities).

Provide onsite assistance during events, answering questions, and supporting renter needs.

Report damage, maintenance issues, or safety concerns to the Recreation Manager.

Perform regular inspections of Recreation Centers for cleanliness, safety, and security issues.

Assist with light cleaning and maintain readiness of event spaces.

Secure facilities after events, ensuring all doors, equipment, and storage areas are properly closed and locked.

2.2 Backup Lifeguard Duties



Serve as a Backup Lifeguard when scheduled or directed.

Maintain lifeguard certification (obtained within required timeframe).

Maintain continuous surveillance from the elevated lifeguard chair to ensure unobstructed visibility of the pool bottom.

Enforce posted pool rules consistently and professionally.

2.2 Basic Pool Operations and Cleaning



Conduct routine pool area checks including water level, visible clarity, deck hazards, and readiness of lifesaving equipment.

Perform basic cleaning tasks such as skimming debris, emptying skimmer baskets, wiping surfaces, and keeping decks safe and unobstructed.

Identify and report issues related to pumps, filters, water level, or chemical imbalance.

Ensure all pool rule signage is visible and in place.

Maintain pool operator certification (obtained within required timeframe).

2.5 Administrative Support



Assist with renter check-ins, contract confirmation, and rule acknowledgment.

Support documentation tasks including incident reports, setup logs, and inspection records.

Assist with receiving rental payments or entering basic information into management systems (as directed).

3. Key Competencies



Dependability in working assigned schedules, including evenings and weekends.

Ability to follow established procedures for event setup, facility inspections, and safety protocols.

Strong customer service and communication skills when interacting with renters, members, and guests.

Attention to detail in documenting facility condition, reporting concerns, and completing required forms.

Ability to remain alert, focused, and responsive during pool monitoring and lifeguard duties.

Professional judgment to identify safety risks, enforce rules appropriately, and escalate concerns when necessary.

4. Education and Experience



High school diploma or equivalent required.

Lifeguard certification required within the designated timeframe after hire.

Pool operator certification required within the designated timeframe after hire.

5. Language Skills



Proficiency in English with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively. Ability to communicate effectively with renters, members, staff, and supervisors. Ability to write simple reports, incident logs, and inspection documentation.

6. Reasoning Ability



Ability to identify safety concerns, respond to unexpected situations, and make sound decisions based on policy. Ability to understand and apply pool rules, facility guidelines, and emergency response procedures. Ability to assess facility conditions before and after events and determine when issues must be escalated.

7. Other Skills and Abilities



Ability to set up tables, chairs, and equipment according to event layout requirements.

Ability to perform routine poolside cleaning tasks and maintain a safe deck area.

Ability to maintain certification requirements for lifeguarding, CPR, and First Aid.

Ability to maintain professionalism, especially when enforcing rules or addressing renter concerns.

Ability to work variable schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

8.0 Physical Demands8.1 Facility Attendant



Regular walking, standing, bending, lifting,

Movement of tables and chairs.

8.2 Backup Lifeguard



Ability to sit in an elevated lifeguard chair for extended periods.

Ability to perform water rescues and emergency response activities

Ability to work outdoors in heat, sun, humidity, and near pool chemicals.

9. Work Environment



Work is performed indoors in recreation facilities and outdoors on pool deck.

Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
