Maintenance/Campus Custodian

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:

This position provides support to the Principal to ensure smooth operation of the school campus. Directly represents the

Principal in a professional manner to staff, parents, students, and the community. This is a year round, in-person position.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School education or equivalent preferred Must possess a valid Arizona Driver's License with a clean driving record Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) with students, parents, coworkers and district personnel at

all levels

Ability to meet time schedules, punctuality and reliability a must Must maintain a valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card This is an in-person position

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform custodial and maintenance duties as required by district standards; to maintain the cleanliness and

safe conditions of a school environment

Perform many maintenance and custodial tasks each day to maintain the cleanliness and safe condition of the

schools

Operate custodial power equipment Regular and on-time attendance required Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled facilities maintenance tasks, including grounds keeping, plumbing,

mechanical, painting, masonry and basic electrical and wiring work; operates hand and power tools.

Works on assigned projects, and makes appropriate decisions based on work experience; duties will vary

according to job assignment and individual skills.

Follows basic work orders; identifies material and equipment needs for each assigned project, and organizes

supplies and equipment.

Performs repairs, preventive maintenance and component replacement on plumbing, electrical, security, and

mechanical systems; repairs building interior and external components as directed.

Works with Skilled Maintenance Workers and/or contractors on major repair projects as assigned. Utilizes proper safety precautions in all work performed; reports problems and emergency situations. Cleans up spills and unsafe conditions in a timely manner and according to procedures Performs other duties as assigned.

? Physical Demands

o May lift, pull, push or carry. May require physical strength to push/pull 100 lbs.

o May sit or stand for a prolonged period of time

o May be exposed to outdoor elements

o May assist other personnel in physical demands
