The

Facilities Watch Officer (FWO)

is responsible for real time monitoring, coordination, and incident response for all facilities operations and critical infrastructure systems in support of USG. The FWO ensures uninterrupted facility functionality, security, and safety by serving as a primary point of contact for operational events, alarms, and emergency communications within assigned facility.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIOSN:



Monitor and operate building management systems, security management, and other facility control platforms to ensure continuous facilty readiness Serve as the central point of contact for facility status, alarms, work orders, outages and emergency events. Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, and security teams to resolve facility and infrastructure issues. Log and track incidents, alarms, and maintenance activities in accordance with established standard operating procedures. Initiate appropriate escalation procedures during abnormal events, equipment failures, or environmental alarms. Provide real-time reporting and updates to Facilities Manager and Building Managers. Support emergency preparedness, continuity of operations, and after action reporting. Conduct shift turnovers, maintain accurate event logs, brief incoming watch personnel.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:



High School Diploma, Vocational School or Trade School Diploma. Ten (10) years of experience operating mechanical and electrical systems Two (2) years of experience in monitoring and controlling major facilities infrastructure, ranging from HVAC, Fire, and Electrical Systems. One (1) year experience working with SCADA/EMCS control systems One (1) year supervisory experience

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:



Working knowledge of power grids, plant systems, emergency generation, and critical infrastructure systems to support muli-building campuses Operations experience in federal facilities or mission facilities Experience responding to facility-related emergencies and coordinating with first responders. Familiarity with energy management and sustainability principles.
