Pay Range: $59,534 - $74,360 annual compensation

A Facilities Planner job is available with the City of Fort Worth, Property Management Department - Facilities Planning. The Facilities Planner coordinates with senior staff preparing space-planning scenarios via a 2D or 3D computer-aided design software application, (example: AutoCAD, ArcGIS Database tools) in response to requests from various City Departments for office space reconfiguration and minor renovations necessary to meet the department's plan. Prepares and tracks inventory of General Fund and Non-General Fund facilities and departmental space use plans. Organizes project files (digital and hard copy) of on-going and completed Architectural projects.
Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in space planning or a related design/construction field
• Three (3) years of experience in providing space planning solutions, using AutoCAD and/or ArcGIS systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Engineering/Architectural drafting and design tools, construction techniques, maintenance techniques and engineering/architectural principles.
• Knowledge of building trades such as carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and roofing.
• Knowledge of database tools and suite of MicroSoft programs, example: Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat.

The Facilities Planner job responsibilities include:

• Assists customers with programming of the use, re-use, modification or addition of City owned spaces, including layout possibilities in the new space. Writes work descriptions that will accomplish the work using City Forces, vendors and/or job order contractors.
• Assists in minor renovation projects by coordinating with user department personnel and preparing digital drawings with suggested layouts.
• Use of Geographic Information System (GIS) tools and other spatial database software to assist in storing, managing, analyzing, editing and exporting all spatial data necessary for various planning projects.
• Conducts building audits to verify employee locations, furniture layout and room configurations are correctly noted on building floor plans and all as-built floor plans are up-to date.
• Gathers programming information related to office space requirements, adjacencies, or move requirements. Works with various City departments and entities to create long-term, short-term and tactical plans for their growth, consolidation and other office space
• Interfaces with various City staff to coordinate various facilities projects, including the synchronization and timing and construction of offices, the distribution and installation of furniture, and the relocation of personnel to different locations.
