The Facilities Painter is responsible for maintaining the aesthetic and functional quality of the manufacturing plant by performing painting tasks on walls, floors, equipment, and other surfaces. This role ensures safety and compliance by marking floor lines and designated areas, and contributes to the upkeep of the facility through surface preparation, painting, and minor repairs.
Essential Position Responsibilities
Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, patching, and priming.
Apply paint, varnish, epoxy, and other finishes to walls, floors, doors, and equipment using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
Paint and maintain floor markings, safety lines, and designated zones in accordance with OSHA and company standards.
Mix and match paint colors and finishes to meet specifications.
Maintain painting tools and equipment in good working condition.
Safely handle and store painting materials and chemicals.
Collaborate with maintenance and safety teams to identify areas needing attention.
Perform touch-ups and repainting as needed due to wear or damage.
Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
Must be available to work a weekend-based schedule, with regular hours from
Thursday through Sunday, 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM
.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities
Based on the nature of the essential functions associated with this role, GreenWood has designated this as a "safety-sensitive" position.
Non-Essential Position Responsibilities
Conducts process inspection, certification, and documentation

Essential Skills and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
At least one year experience as a painter in an industrial or commercial setting
Knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, and safety standards
Ability to read and interpret work orders, safety guidelines, and floor plans
Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to facility markings and safety zones
Ability to climb ladders and work in various positions
Attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team
Ability to work from various heights
Proficient in operating paint striping machines for applying precise floor markings and safety lines in industrial environments
Skilled in using paint blasting equipment for effective removal of old coatings and surface preparation.
Ability to be certified to operate powered lift equipment(ariel lift, scissor lift, etc.)
Excellent attention to detail and sense of urgency
Ability to prioritize and perform repetitive tasks with focus on quantity and quality
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Demonstrates a high level of customer service and strong communication (both listening and speaking) and interpersonal skills
Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s)
Beneficial Skills and Experience
Completed an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty preferred
Experience in facilities painting preferred
Greater than one year experience in related field preferred
Extensive knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within related field preferred
