The Facilities Manager is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of GTI's Buffalo manufacturing facility. This role owns facility infrastructure, utilities, production equipment maintenance, and site services to ensure maximum uptime and operational readiness.
This is a hands-on leadership role with deep maintenance accountability. The Facilities Manager leads preventive and corrective maintenance execution, oversees facility services, and partners with plant leadership to ensure facilities, equipment, and infrastructure fully support production demands.
Core Responsibilities
Facility & Plant Infrastructure
Own the overall condition, safety, and functionality of the manufacturing facility
Maintain building systems including electrical distribution, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, fire protection, and structural elements
Conduct regular facility inspections and ensure the plantremainsclean, organized, and production-readyat all times
Support facility upgrades, layout changes, and infrastructure improvements aligned with production needs
Equipment Maintenance & Reliability
Own maintenance and reliability for production equipment and facility support systems
Oversee machinery, production lines, conveyors, welders, lasers, compressed air systems, and utilities
Develop, implement, and enforce preventive and predictive maintenance programs
Track and report reliability KPIs including uptime percentage, downtime hours, MTBF, and PM compliance
Support machine upgrades, new equipment installs, and process expansions
Troubleshooting, Repairs & Emergency Response
Lead and perform troubleshooting and repairs for facility systems and production equipment
Respond to unplanned downtime and critical equipment failures with urgency
Lead emergency repair and recovery efforts to restore operations quickly
Maintain and continuously improve access control, monitoring, and emergency response protocols
Maintenance Systems & Asset Management
Implement and manage CMMS for maintenance planning, execution, and tracking
Maintainaccuraterecords for equipment, assets, tools, parts inventory, and maintenance history
Support asset tracking systems and ensure proper documentation of repairs and upgrades
Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and local/state regulatory requirements
Conduct safety inspections and audits toidentifyand mitigate hazards
Enforce safe work practices and promote a strong safety culture across facilities and maintenance teams
Vendor & Contractor Management
Manage external contractors and service providers for maintenance, repairs, and facility services
Coordinate vendor work, ensure quality standards are met, and manage service-level expectations
Support procurement of parts, tools, and maintenance services
Custodial, Waste & Site Services
Lead custodial and waste management activities tomaintaina clean, compliant facility
Oversee recycling, waste handling, and hazardous waste management
Implement efficiency and sustainability initiatives to reduce waste and operating costs
Team Leadership & Development
Lead and supervise maintenance technicians and site services personnel
Set daily priorities andallocateresources based on production risk and impact
Train, coach, and develop team members to improve capability and responsiveness
Drive accountability, ownership, and execution discipline
Budget & Resource Management
Manage facilities and maintenance budgets
Identifycost-saving opportunities through improved reliability, extended asset life, and waste reduction
Balance cost control with uptime, safety, and quality requirements
Required Qualifications
6+ years of experience in facilities or maintenance management within a manufacturing or industrial environment
Strong hands-on maintenance background across mechanical, electrical, and facility systems
Experience leading multi-functional teams including maintenance and site services
Proven experience reducing downtime and improving equipment reliability
Experience with CMMS, maintenance planning, and reliability practices
Strong understanding of manufacturing facilities, layouts, and operational best practices
Strong communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in fabrication, heavy industrial, or complex manufacturing environments
Knowledge of TPM, preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies
Supervisory or people-management experience
Trade certifications or technical training
