Position Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall upkeep, safety, and functionality of the building and grounds. This role performs general maintenance, repairs, inspections, and preventive tasks to support a safe, efficient, and compliant manufacturing environment. Duties include building maintenance, light electrical tasks, HVAC filter changes, lighting repairs, safety checks, and supporting facility improvement projects. The Technician is expected to uphold the company's Core Values and maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility.
Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Building Maintenance
Perform routine building repairs including doors, walls, flooring, shelving, ceiling tiles, and fixtures.
Replace light bulbs, ballasts, and lighting components throughout the facility.
Conduct plumbing-related tasks such as fixing leaks, replacing faucets, and clearing drains.
Perform basic carpentry tasks such as patching, painting, assembling furniture, and installing fixtures.
Maintain exterior grounds including walkways, parking areas, and building entrances.
HVAC & Electrical Support
Replace HVAC filters and assist with scheduled preventive maintenance.
Support contractors performing HVAC or electrical repairs.
Perform basic electrical tasks such as outlet replacement, switch repairs, and troubleshooting minor electrical issues (within certification or state guidelines).
Maintain facility power tool inventory and ensure equipment is safe and in good working order.
Safety & Compliance
Conduct routine inspections of fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, emergency exits, and safety equipment.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EHS, and facility safety programs.
Report unsafe conditions, hazards, or facility risks immediately.
Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free common areas, mechanical rooms, and maintenance storage areas.
Support ESD compliance by maintaining flooring, grounding points, and workstation safety where applicable.
Preventive Maintenance & Repairs
Complete preventive maintenance schedules for HVAC, humidity and compressor equipment.
Track maintenance work, repairs, and inspections through logs or facility software.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff, Production, or Quality.
Troubleshoot and resolve general building issues efficiently and safely.
Vendor & Project Support
Assist with supervising contractors and vendors performing building, HVAC, electrical, or safety work.
Support facility upgrades, rearrangements, or expansions as directed.
Coordinate deliveries, maintenance supplies, and inventory for facility upkeep.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
1-3 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities, handyman work, construction, or equivalent.
Ability to perform general repairs including light electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical tasks.
Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in various facility areas.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to building safety.
Basic computer skills for logs, documentation, and work order systems.
Ability to follow safety procedures, PPE requirements, and lockout/tagout when applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
Electrician certification or journeyman card (nice to have, not required).
Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or commercial facility maintenance.
Familiarity with HVAC systems, electrical panels, and preventive maintenance programs.

Work Environment
Manufacturing plant and office environment.
Frequent walking, standing, bending, ladder climbing, and lifting.

Pay: $24.66 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
