We are looking for a reliable
Facilities
Maintenance Lead
to oversee all installation, repair and upkeep operations of the International Peace Garden's facilities. You will be instrumental in ensuring that visitors have a clean and safe experience in facilities, and that your colleagues have the best physical resources available to complete their duties according to budget.
A great
Facilities Maintenance Lead
will have a solid understanding of plumbing, HVAC and electrical systems as well as carpentry and other crafts. They will be well-versed in all maintenance and custodial processes and health and safety regulations. Understanding and experience with basic water treatment is valued, but not required. The ideal candidate will also have aptitude for undertaking administrative tasks such as reporting, budgeting etc.
The goal is to ensure the Peace Garden's facilities are well-cared for and adequate to support the organization's business operations.
To supervise and execute the International Peace Garden buildings maintenance strategy in collaboration with the administrative office.
Responsibilities
Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation
Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues
Monitor and treat the drinking water to standards set by the State of North Dakota and Province of Manitoba, while keeping the treatment plant operable (training will be provided)
Check electrical and hydraulic systems of buildings to ensure functionality
Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities
Allocate workload, hire, train, supervise and assist upkeep staff (custodians, janitors etc.)
Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary
Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance
Manage relationships with contractors and service providers
Prepare bids for maintenance contracts and projects.
Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities
Ensure health and safety policies are complied with
Requirements and skills
3-5 years proven experience as maintenance manager or other managerial role of multi-facility campus
Experience in planning maintenance operations
Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems, water treatment, etc.
Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment
Ability to keep track of and report on activity
Experience with Microsoft Office
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
High school diploma or equivalent; Degree from a vocational school or BSc/BA in business administration or facility management will be an advantage
Valid Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) will be a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $52,000.00 - $63,000.00 per year
