Job Description

JOB SUMMARY



The Director of Facilities manages and coordinates all facilities, equipment, and vehicle maintenance efforts for Hope Ministries and its subsidiaries, in accordance with the intent and directives found in its Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, Statement of Faith, Mission Statement and Core Values. The Facilities Director is accountable to, and reports to, the Chief Operating Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES



Oversee and manage day-to-day and periodic Facilities Management (maintenance) department activities and staff. Lead, manage and oversee paid maintenance staff, arranging schedules and assignments for maximum efficiency and effectiveness. Establish and manage high service standards for Facilities Management (maintenance) and periodically evaluate both individual and group performance based on these standards. Choose, utilize, and manage outsourced vendors for janitorial supplies and repairs (which include, but are not limited to, plumbing, HVAC, electric, and kitchen equipment). Oversight and responsibility for the development and management of the facilities, maintenance, janitorial and building & equipment budgets. Verify and approve invoices on equipment, repair, and supplies purchases. Participate in the planning and strategic planning of the 20-year plan. Lead strategic planning for future facility needs, including space utilization, renovations, and regulatory compliance with health and safety standards; collaborate with executive leadership to ensure facility operations support and align with organizational goals. Plan, oversee, and bring to completion - on deadline and within budget - all projects and individual equipment purchases approved as part of the annual Building and Equipment fund budget. Communicate regularly with stakeholders regarding the progress of each project. Supports the development and execution of renovation, addition, and new construction plans. Works closely with leadership, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure projects align with organizational goals, timelines, and budgets, while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and functionality. Direct the scheduling and execution of routine maintenance across all building systems to ensure operational efficiency and longevity. Provides oversight and training to maintenance staff, ensuring adherence to safety standards, preventative protocols, and industry best practices. Monitors and enforces compliance with all applicable laws, codes, regulations, and safety standards. Proactively identifies and addresses potential risks, ensuring the facility operates in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements to maintain a safe and legally sound environment. Oversee the day-to-day and periodic maintenance of grounds and related equipment, including the use of outsourced vendors as necessary to maintain a well-maintained appearance on Hope Ministries' grounds. Develop, implement and maintain fire and severe weather emergency procedures, including evacuation plans and posting of appropriate signage. Review and update these procedures at least annually. Participate in the training of staff and scheduling periodic drills. Participate in the spiritual growth and Christian instruction of those whom Hope Ministries serves. This can include (but is not restricted to) personal mentoring, the sharing of Scripture and Biblical encouragement, and praying with program participants. This may be in a structured setting (i.e., a classroom or chapel), or unstructured, with individual clients as the need arises. Assist in the preparation of the annual Facilities Management (maintenance) budget. Evaluate Facilities Maintenance processes at least annually and make recommendations to COO for changes. Carry, maintain, and utilize a company-provided cell phone or smart phone to conduct the responsibilities of this position to include: being reachable during business and off hours during weekdays and weekends should the need arise and checking and responding to emails or text messages in a timely manner to ensure that priorities are met.
Support, communicate and implement Hope Ministries safety initiatives throughout the organization.

Work in a spirit of cooperation and mutual assistance with all other staff members of Hope Ministries and its subsidiaries. Other duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS



Spiritual Qualifications: Must have a lifestyle that demonstrates moral and ethical adherence to the teachings of the Bible and an expressed desire to minister to those who are poor, needy and homeless. Demonstrated past experience and practical knowledge commensurate to performing facilities management in a multi-site organization. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage both paid maintenance staff and volunteers. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including the ability to email coworkers and vendors, and to do research via the Internet; strong communication skills (both written and verbal). Familiarity with online helpdesk (osTicket) and preventative maintenance applications (i.e., MAPCON) desirable.
