Facilities Coordinator III
to supervise the Boiler Plant and Plumbing shops by utilizing and organizing assigned personnel, equipment, and contractors or suppliers when required.
Principal Duties:
The Facilities Coordinator III will need to understand the operations of facilities management. This person will also supervise the staff and will perform all Facilities Coordinator III duties including:
Supervises subordinate personnel including hiring, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring and evaluating performance, and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions.
Establishes assigns, and adjusts work methods and procedures to meet schedules using knowledge of capacities and capabilities of personnel and equipment.
Manages assigned employee work orders (CMMS) responsibilities and initiates measures to improve methods, equipment performance, and quality of work.
Assists in capital improvement and/or special projects when required.
Interprets policies to assigned personnel, and enforces safety regulations and adherence to proper Utah Department of Corrections policies, federal and state codes, and standards.
Utilizes available training for assigned personnel and keeps up to date in any new methods or procedures.
Maintains responsibility for the correct stock levels of repair or replacement parts.
Inspect work in process to ensure its completion within allotted time limits and for acceptable quality standards.
Coordinates with suppliers, contractors, engineers, and others concerning equipment operations or maintenance when required.
Work with all other shops to troubleshoot and repair system failures related to all aspects of the Boiler Plant and Plumbing shop equipment and systems.
Will be required to assist in the day-to-day operations of the Boiler Plant and Plumbing shop.

Retirement - Utah Retirement Systems (URS)
:
Employees who have any service credit with an employer covered by the Utah Retirement Systems prior to 7/1/2011 are in the Tier I Public Employees System.
Employees hired on or after 7/1/2011 and who have never been in the URS retirement system have two options for retirement in the Tier II System.
+ Tier 2 Hybrid Retirement System. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary between both plans (pension and 401(k))
+ Tier 2 Defined Contribution Plan. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary to a 401(k) plan only. Employer contributions to your 401(k) are vested after four years.
Paid Time Off
:
Annual leave and sick leave are accrued at 4 hours per pay period each (4 hours annual, 4 hours sick).
Annual leave amounts increase with years of service.
We have 12 paid holidays.
Qualifications

Knowledge of budgetary practices and principles.
Supervise others by assigning/directing work; conducting employee evaluations, staff training and development, taking appropriate disciplinary/corrective actions, making hiring/termination recommendations, etc.
Conduct a methodical examination.
Prepare financial reports and documentation.
Make a decision or solve a problem by using logic to identify key facts, explore alternatives, and propose quality solutions.
Establish objectives and specify the strategies and actions to achieve these objectives.
Bid, quote and award procedures.
Procurement and/or administration of contracts, grants, loans, or similar agreements.
Communicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely, in writing; read and understand information presented in writing.

Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time.
Risks found in potentially dangerous or unusual environmental stress situations, e.g. being subject to possible physical attack, etc.
Safety and risk issues inherit while working and training within a correctional facility with an inmate population are presumed.
NOTE:
Department of Human Resource Management rules regarding promotions and transfers apply to current state employee.
Current UDC employees hourly rate will be subjected to the Career Ladder
