Position Description

A Facilities Specialist performs many maintenance, safety and management tasks that promote a clean and safe working environment for the building's employees, ensuring that we meet operational needs and compliance standards.

Essential Job Functions:

Facility Management:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of buildings and facilities, ensuring they are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This includes managing cleaning, maintenance, and safety compliance.

Maintenance Support

: Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify issues, coordinate repairs, and manage maintenance schedules. This may involve troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.

Vendor Management

: Manage contracts with external service providers for landscaping, waste disposal, and other facility-related services, ensuring compliance with service agreements.

Safety Compliance

: Ensure that all facilities comply with safety regulations, including OSHA standards, and conduct safety drills and inspections.

Budget Management

: Control spending against the budget for facility operations and maintenance, adjusting with Maintenance Supervisor as necessary to meet financial goals.

Emergency Preparedness:

Develop and implement emergency plans for disasters, ensuring staff are trained and prepared for various scenarios.

Education, Experience & Skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with repair tools and techniques 4+ years in facilities management Excellent organizational and time management skills Advanced mechanical skills and knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and other building systems. Great customer service and interpersonal skills Friendly, service-oriented personality Keen attention to detail Problem-solving and basic troubleshooting skills Proficiency with common word processing and spreadsheet software Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
