The Fabricator is responsible for assembling, constructing, and finishing metal or composite components according to specifications and production requirements. This role supports manufacturing operations by interpreting blueprints, operating fabrication equipment, and ensuring high-quality workmanship while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine fabrication requirements.
Measure, cut, and shape materials using saws, grinders, shears, plasma cutters, or other fabrication tools.
Perform welding, drilling, bending, and fitting of components to assemble final products or subassemblies.
Inspect completed parts for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications.
Operate forklifts, hoists, or other material-handling equipment as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace and uphold all safety guidelines and procedures.
Troubleshoot fabrication issues and collaborate with supervisors or engineers to resolve problems.
Document work performed and report production updates or equipment concerns.
Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and quality.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience in fabrication, manufacturing, welding, or related mechanical work.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
Proficient in using fabrication tools, machinery, and measurement instruments (e.g., tape measures, calipers).
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in welding (MIG/TIG/Stick) or metal fabrication.
Experience with CNC equipment or automated cutting/bending machinery.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
Forklift certification.

Work Environment:
Physical Demands
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, or reach for extended periods.

Occasional climbing of ladders or stairs.
Sensory Requirements

Ability to hear and communicate clearly in a manufacturing or office environment.
Ability to work with or near loud noise (hearing protection may be required).
Work Conditions
Exposure to manufacturing floor environment (noise, dust, temperature variations).
May require wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, or steel-toe shoes.
Working near moving mechanical parts or equipment.
Occasional exposure to chemicals, fumes, or airborne particles (with safety precautions in place).
Variable weather conditions if work requires indoor/outdoor movement.
