is seeking an experienced Fabrication Manager to lead operations at our Burlington, WI manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving performance across our team of welders, fitters, fabricators, equipment operators, and blast/coating specialists. You will oversee the full project lifecycle--from planning and scheduling through fabrication, coating, and loadout--ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery.
This is an opportunity to step into a visible leadership role where you'll collaborate with senior leadership, project management, quality, engineering, and purchasing while directly shaping the success of high-profile projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide daily leadership for all fabrication shop operations to achieve production, quality, and safety goals. Coach, mentor, and develop employees to build a high-performance culture. Manage employee relations, training, and continuous improvement initiatives. Create and adjust work schedules to meet project demands, including overtime planning. Hire, train, and retain skilled tradespeople while upholding performance standards. Partner with Engineering to resolve drawing and technical issues. Drive continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives in fabrication processes. Monitor and report variances, delays, and issues--implement corrective actions promptly. Ensure all projects move through the shop on schedule and leave departments complete, accurate, and on time. Conduct annual performance evaluations and provide regular feedback. Enforce and promote safety-first culture in all operations. Champion quality improvement and lean manufacturing practices.

QUALIFICATIONS



Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred; equivalent experience considered. 5+ years of supervisory experience in steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing (required). Strong background in welding processes (GMAW, FCAW, SMAW). Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Knowledge of structural materials, plate, and bolt grades. Hands-on familiarity with fabrication equipment (burn table, press brake, plate rolls, angle lines, beam lines, overhead cranes, etc.). Experience with MRP systems (Tekla preferred). Working knowledge of quality inspection methods (VT, PT, MT, UT, RT). Understanding of AISC, AWS, ASME, ISO requirements. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
