Summary of Job Duties: This position is responsible for delivery of the Foster Pride/Adopt Pride pre-service training curriculum, completion of the SAFE Home Study for prospective Foster/Adoptive families that complete this training or Triple P family education. This position has regular contact with DCFS and other public agencies, and community professionals. The Trainer is directly responsible to the Foster Parent Program Director or the Parenting Program Director- depending on funding and assigned tasks. This position requires extensive in-state travel and work outside normal office hours.

Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Social Work or related master\xe2\x80\x99s degree and experience with children and families to train and assess for the foster program or Bachelor\'s degree to with experience in the Triple P program and be trained and certified in Triple-P.
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
  • Experience in writing home assessments, psycho-social histories, training in curriculum development and training delivery, trainer/instructor preferred. Appropriate professional licensure preferred, e.g., LMSW, CPC
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Facilitate parent education sessions for identified parents;
  • Communicate with program participants (phone, e-mail, mail, virtual setting), as needed;
  • Work with education team to consider individual needs of families in program and implement programming accordingly (ie. needed accommodations such as translators, interpreters, etc.);
  • Work with children in the family system as required by the DCFS parenting program; and Assist in program documentation, evaluation, and reporting requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to travel in-state and out-of-state occasionally is required;
  • Ability to work outside of normal officehours will be required;
  • Ability to adapt to organizational change and handle multiple tasks;
  • Ability to use a personal computer.
