State Technical College of Missouri is accepting applications for a full time, exempt, and benefit eligible External Relations Specialist for the External Relations Division. This position is responsible for assisting with and managing various support elements to the overall institutional advancement efforts of the College and its affiliate, the Foundation for State Technical College of Missouri (State Tech.) This position emphasizes excellent customer service and provides day-to-day management for all accounting for Career Services, Missouri One Start, Business and Industry and foundation within the division. Primary areas of responsibility include daily deposits, donor software inputs, donor acknowledgements, management of contracts, invoices, scholarship payments and process, support for employer events and fundraising payments. Job Responsibilities: To perform this position successfully, employee must be able to perform each essential function and responsibility satisfactorily. The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Manage Missouri One Start payments and contracts.
Monitor revenue/expense activity for Career Services, Foundation and Missouri One Start.
Manage and process all Foundation and External relations donations and funding using External Relations accounting software system.
Prepare and/or oversee daily receipts and deposits
Assist in managing the Foundation scholarship process
Coordinate and assist with Foundation grants including the CAT and HAAS grants.
Assist with facilitating employer student events including Lunch and Learns and Career Expo.
Manage Foundation donor database.
Facilitate Foundation audit.
Maintain records according to college, Foundation and MO One Start policies.
Manage, identify and provide process improvements for the division.
Support external relations division special events and outreach when needed.
Ensure all donations to the Foundation are properly designated and recognized.
Perform other related duties as needed or assigned.
Qualifications: This position requires a baccalaureate degree in the area of business administration and/or accounting required. This position requires work experience in the following areas:
Ability to apply complex accounting principles.
Ability to use software products efficiently.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational ability and the ability to meet deadlines.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and principles; and fund or governmental accounting practices and principles.
Must be proficient in computer use and Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Must be a self-starter who works well in fast-paced, dynamic, term-oriented environment.
Possess a strong orientation for getting results and be a team player.
Ability to self-initiate follow up, work independently, and adhere to deadlines.
Consistently comply with all college policies and procedures.
This position also requires supporting relationships with internal staff, partners, and a wide variety of diverse groups from industry, academia, government, and the community.
A proven ability to provide excellent customer service.
This position also requires the ability to effectively address multiple projects simultaneously.
