We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for an External Affairs Analyst to join our team!

In this role, you\xe2\x80\x99ll analyze policies, legislation, and regulations concerning the field of disabilities. Responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders, tracking policy changes, and coordinating legislative efforts. The role involves research, monitoring, and staying updated on state and federal legislative processes.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do:

  • Identify, build and maintain relationships connected to Mosaic\xe2\x80\x99s government relations and advocacy goals
  • Represent Mosaic, as needed, in state and federal meetings, conferences and events that are linked to government relations and advocacy.
  • Review, monitor and interpret national and state issues related to the disabilities field and develop legislative digests, and prepare issue briefs
  • Research and initiate development of Mosaic\xe2\x80\x99s position on legislative or regulatory topics and issues, and prepare synopses of legislative bills and regulations.
  • Support the strategic alignment of the organization, as requested
  • Maintain a tracking system for state and federal legislative initiatives. Regularly review and report on the impact of public policy and regulatory issues including how to mitigate their impact and strategies for influencing their design
  • Build and maintain a relationship map tracking system for external and internal connections
  • Enhance the grassroots advocacy system and process for increased participation and communication regarding state and federal legislative initiatives, regulatory initiatives and other state or federal initiatives that may impact Mosaic\xe2\x80\x99s mission.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with some flexibility

Travel: Yes

Remote: Yes, unable to hire in Alaska, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Montana or Washington State

Salary: $85,000 - $95,000 dependent upon experience

You should have:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in political science, education, business administration, industrial relations or a related field.
  • Five years of professional experience in legislative operations, lobbying, or government affairs preferred.
