Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care for animals, assisting veterinarians in various procedures, and ensuring the well-being of pets in our facility. This position requires a strong knowledge of animal anatomy, veterinary terminology, and excellent animal handling skills.

Duties

Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures. Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian. Monitor the health and behavior of animals in our care. Maintain accurate medical records for each patient. Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and training techniques. Manage kennel operations, including cleaning and maintaining a safe environment for all animals. Stay updated on veterinary practices and advancements in animal care.

Skills

Proficient in animal handling techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff. Anesthesia and Performing Dental Cleanings is required. Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology to communicate effectively with the veterinary team. Experience with dog training or behavior modification is a plus. Familiarity with pet grooming practices to enhance the appearance and hygiene of animals. Understanding of animal anatomy to assist in medical procedures accurately. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Experience with equine care is beneficial but not required.
