Are you an Experienced Veterinary Clinic Assistant looking to work in a clinic that radiates caring professionalism in a fun, friendly atmosphere? Our busy, three doctor, small animal clinic, located in western Shawnee, is seeking a reliable, detail oriented veterinary assistant with experience in a clinic setting. We call them Technician Assistants. They assist our doctors and technicians on so many levels, from nail trims, vaccinations and fluid administration, gathering patient info during exams, proper pet restraint, assisting with xrays, labwork, and anesthetic procedures, as well as general hospital cleaning. We are needing someone who already has experience with most of the skills listed below in this ad. This is not a kennel or daycare position, as we do not offer those services here. Must be reliable for shifts and possess compassion for both pets and their people, and have excellent communication skills and confidence. Our current need is on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. We are looking for someone who is able to work at least 3 of those days per week. Our shift times are: Full day shifts are 7:45am-6:00pm. Must be able to work one or two Saturdays 7:45am-1:00pm.

Daily duties may include, but are not limited to:

*Proper holding and restraint of pets

*Nail Trims

*Anal Gland Expression

*Administering vaccinations and injections

*Xray Assistance

*Fecals, HWT, Felv/Fiv testing

*Lab work with testing equipment (metabolic screens, etc)

*Starting appointments/Gathering information for technicians and doctors

*SQ Fluids administration

*Ear Cleaning/plucking

*Cleaning/prepping surgery packs

*Give oral medications

*Take pet temperatures

*Callback phone calls

*Call clients with fecal and HWT results

*Learn and be able to educate clients about parasites and preventatives

*Anesthesia monitoring during procedures

*Scaling and polishing teeth

*Experience with Avimark is a plus

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
