Join the dynamic team at Taxzone Unlimited, a leading provider of personal and small business tax services across the U.S. As an Experienced Tax Preparer, you'll play a vital role in helping individuals and business owners navigate the complexities of tax filing with confidence and accuracy.

This is an independent contractor position offering a flexible remote schedule, a competitive commission structure, and the opportunity to work with a company committed to supporting both its clients and its professionals.

Responsibilities

Prepare accurate federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and small businesses. Review client financial documents such as income statements, expense reports, and bank statements to ensure precise data entry. Utilize professional tax software and tools (including the Taxes To Goapp) to collect, organize, and complete returns efficiently. Provide clear, detailed guidance on tax laws, deductions, credits, depreciation, and compliance standards. Maintain organized electronic records of all client communications and filed returns for audit readiness. Offer excellent customer service -- explaining complex tax matters in simple, client-friendly terms. Stay current with 2025-2026 federal and state tax updates and IRS compliance requirements. Promote additional company services such as bookkeeping, business formation, and refund advances when appropriate. Collaborate with other Taxzone Unlimited professionals to ensure workflow efficiency and accuracy during peak season.
Experience & Skills

1+ year of tax preparation experience required. Active PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number). Working knowledge of QuickBooks, Drake, or similar accounting/tax software preferred. Proven understanding of deductions, credits, depreciation, and Schedule C small business filings. Excellent analytical and data-entry skills (10-key proficiency a plus). Strong communication and customer-service abilities. Ability to manage multiple client files efficiently in a remote environment.

Pay: $25,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
