Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Associate to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax accounting and a solid understanding of financial concepts, GAAP, and regulatory reporting. This role involves preparing tax returns, providing tax planning advice, and ensuring compliance with federal and state tax regulations. The Tax Associate will also assist clients with estimated taxes and auditing tasks. Referral for other services sometimes available.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals. Conduct thorough research on tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance Review financial reports and interpret data to provide insights to clients estimated taxes and tax reporting obligations. Review records of all transactions recorded with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage Review reconciliation, including balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting for accurate tax reporting Support clients in financial planning, budgeting, and asset management strategies Stay updated on changes in tax legislation that may affect client accounts

Experience

Candidates should have a strong foundation in accounting principles with experience in the following areas:

Tax experience in public accounting or corporate settings Familiarity with financial sales concepts and investment strategies Proficiency in bookkeeping practices including double entry bookkeeping and payroll management Knowledge of LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) regulations is a plus Experience with financial software such as Xero or other accounting platforms Strong analytical skills for financial analysis and report writing

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
