Job Summary

We are seeking an Experienced Residential Care Aid to provide compassionate and high-quality care to residents in a supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assisted living, memory care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities. This role requires a dedicated professional who is committed to enhancing the quality of life for our residents through personalized care and support.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide direct support and companionship to residents, fostering a positive and engaging atmosphere. Assist with medications as prescribed and monitor residents for any changes in health or behavior. Maintain accurate documentation of care plans, vital signs, and any incidents or changes in resident conditions using EMR systems. Implement behavior management strategies and conflict resolution techniques as needed. Assist with mobility needs including the use of Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices. Ensure cleanliness and safety of living areas by performing light housekeeping duties. Support residents with dementia or Alzheimer's care through specialized programs and activities tailored to their needs. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to develop comprehensive care plans for each resident.

Skills

Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and first aid practices. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities, including autism. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for resident mobility assistance. Familiarity with caregiving practices related to hospice care and senior care is advantageous. Proficient in conflict management and case management techniques. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and team members.
