Job Description

A parts counter person's main duties involve assisting customers in finding and purchasing parts, managing inventory, and processing sales. They are responsible for greeting customers, identifying their parts needs, looking up stock, taking orders, and processing payments. They also manage inventory, stock shelves, and ensure the parts department is clean and organized. Core duties

Customer service:

Greet customers, assist with locating parts, provide product knowledge, and answer phone inquiries.

Sales and ordering:

Process sales, generate invoices, receive and process payments, and handle returns or exchanges. They also sell parts over the phone and help with part orders for service technicians.

Inventory management:

Stock shelves, receive and log new parts, maintain an accurate inventory, and follow up on back-ordered items. They may also conduct bin checks and help with inventory updates.

Technical assistance:

Use parts catalogs (print or electronic) to identify the correct part numbers and prices. They may also need to advise customers on part substitutions or modifications.

Department maintenance:

Keep the parts counter, showroom, and stockroom clean, organized, and well-maintained.

Coordination:

Liaise with service technicians to ensure they have the parts needed for repairs, and communicate with customers about part status.

Problem-solving:

Handle customer complaints professionally, resolve part problems with vendors, and notify management of out-of-stock parts or other issues.
Required skills

Pay: $2,500.00 - $3,000.00 per month
