Highly skilled equipment operator needed. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of efficiently and safely operating excavators on diverse projects, including heavy civil infrastructure, industrial, water/wastewater, and commercial sites, and embodies the below character traits:
Technical Expertise
Excavator Equipment Operation
Operate excavators of various sizes for digging, trenching, loading, and grading tasks.
Efficiently and cleanly load trucks, manage material exports, and oversee trucking operations.
Safely excavate and shore trenches using trench boxes, manhole boxes, and hydraulic speed shoring. Experience with slide rail systems is a plus.
Assess capabilities and limitations for lifting and hoisting various items, including shoring, precast structures, gang panels, and rebar mats.
Excavate, bed, and backfill utility piping and conduit.
Advanced Techniques
Perform complex tasks such as fine grading, slope creation, precision trenching, and working in tight or restricted spaces.
Setup and manage dewatering systems effectively.
Site Operations
Blueprint Interpretation
Read and interpret construction drawings to establish layout and grading.
Identify and address grading discrepancies.
Planning and Coordination
Plan and maintain required materials, tools, and equipment.
Manage equipment utilization for maximum efficiency.
Oversee material stockpiles, assess soil conditions, and comply with SWPPP BMP requirements.
Lead and direct ground personnel while ensuring quality and efficiency.
Maintain exceptional safety standards and hold team members accountable.
Adhere to safety regulations, including OSHA standards, and follow company protocols.
Conduct regular safety inspections of equipment to ensure optimal condition.
Exercise stop-work authority to maintain safe working conditions.
Hazard Awareness
Recognize potential site hazards, including underground utilities, unstable ground, shoring issues, and overhead obstructions.
Apply safe excavation practices to prevent accidents or equipment damage.
Emergency Readiness
Respond efficiently to equipment malfunctions or site emergencies.
CPR and First Aid training is a plus.
