Duties
Perform precise medical coding using DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems to ensure correct billing and reimbursement.
Collect blood samples and other specimens through safe and efficient phlebotomy techniques, adhering to all safety protocols.
Review and update medical records accurately within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems, ensuring completeness and compliance with regulatory standards.
Interpret and apply medical terminology accurately for documentation, coding, and communication with healthcare providers.
Manage medical billing processes, including claim submission, follow-up on denials, and collections related to medical services rendered.
Maintain thorough knowledge of medical records management, ensuring confidentiality and proper documentation practices.
Collaborate with clinical staff to verify patient information, update records, and support seamless workflow across departments.
Requirements
Proven experience as a coding specialist with expertise in DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems, and familiarity with ICD coding standards.
Strong proficiency in medical billing, collections, and understanding of insurance claim processes.
Demonstrated skill in performing phlebotomy procedures safely and effectively across diverse patient populations.
Extensive experience working with EMR/EHR systems for accurate data entry and record management.
Solid knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and healthcare documentation standards.
Prior experience in a medical office setting is highly preferred.
Ability to interpret complex medical records accurately while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
