Job Summary


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Avionics Technician to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aircraft and avionics systems, with expertise in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, repair, and fabrication. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to the safety and reliability of aviation equipment through precise diagnostics, assembly, and maintenance of complex avionics systems.

Responsibilities



Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems using schematics, CAD drawings, and technical manuals. Perform electrical testing and measurements utilizing tools such as multimeters (ohmmeters, ammeters), calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments. Fabricate and modify components using welding, sheet metal work, soldering, and power tools while adhering to safety standards. Conduct assembly and disassembly of aircraft airframes and avionics equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications. Utilize coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for precision inspection of fabricated parts. Maintain detailed documentation of repairs and modifications within CMMS systems in compliance with AS9100 standards. Ensure all work complies with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) related to aircraft maintenance and aviation safety. Complete routine and non-routine maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing and replacing aircraft communication, navigational and electrical equipment. Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications. Perform assigned duties with integrity to ensure quality standards are met on all required inspections and work assignments. Complete functional testing and inspections of the avionics on our fleet and customer aircraft. Build wire harnesses and install using acceptable practices for terminating, splicing, soldering of wiring, and coax cabling. Set up and operates necessary test equipment to test transponder, communication and navigational equipment.

Experience



Proven experience as an Avionics Technician. Extensive electrical experience including schematics interpretation, wiring diagrams, soldering techniques, and troubleshooting electrical issues. Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to sheet metal fabrication, assembly, and equipment repair. Experience working with calibration tools such as calipers, micrometers, ohmmeters, ammeters, and other precision instruments. Understanding of industry standards including AS9100 certification requirements and Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR). Prior experience working on aircraft airframes or avionics systems is REQUIRED. Shows proficiency with avionics test equipment and inspection tools and possesses a working knowledge of standard test equipment, ohmmeters, pitot static test boxes, transponder test sets and comm/navigation testing equipment. An ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of pertinent, verifiable, practical experience. Verifiable general aviation, all-around flightline avionics experience. Experience with avionics system installation and avionics troubleshooting on aircraft. Ability to work off drawings, schematics and perform installs. Tech savvy with experience installing harnesses and programing Must be comfortable in small, and sometimes uncomfortable spaces, for extended periods of time. Candidates must provide their own basic hand tools or ability to acquire upon hire. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work meticulously in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written English. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Must be able to read, understand and accomplish maintenance manual procedures. Must be able to research, read wire prints, and order parts. Utilizes a good understanding of electronic theory to effect timely repairs. Demonstrates organizational and time management skills. Ability to perform consistently under stressful conditions. Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic principles, aircraft wiring, and schematic diagrams. Familiarity with FAA regulations and industry standards governing avionics maintenance and installations. Active, valid Driver's License required. High school diploma, or GED required. Must be able to pass pre-employment background check and FAA regulated drug/alcohol tests prior to start. Will be enrolled in our random drug pool. An ideal candidate must have problem solving and organizational skills and the ability to perform basic inspections and repairs. Ability to learn new skills and methods of repair.
Pay: $38.00 - $40.00 per hour
