Duties



Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures. Place and contour restorative materials (composite, amalgam, etc.). Fabricate, place, and adjust temporary crowns and bridges. Prepare, mix, and handle dental materials involved in restorative procedures. Take dental radiographs (X-rays), including intraoral and extraoral images. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Manage patient records using electronic medical record; document treatment details accurately while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize patient comfort and procedural efficiency. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging procedures when necessary for patients with special health considerations. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation and records. Follow aseptic techniques and infection control procedures rigorously to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to facilitate clear communication within the team. Operate advanced equipment like 3D scanners for prosthodontic or implant procedures when required.

Skills



Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients across age groups including pediatrics; capable of explaining procedures clearly. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for efficient recordkeeping and documentation. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy at all times. Experience with dental radiography (X-ray) techniques and equipment operation. Familiarity with infection control standards and aseptic techniques within a dental clinic setting. Ability to perform chairside assisting with proficiency in four-handed dentistry methods. Understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and medical coding processes. Experience using 3D scanners and other advanced imaging tools for comprehensive treatment planning. Pay: From $40.00 per hour
