Position Summary

o Responsible for exercising a specific patient population.

Principal Accountabilities

Education

o Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or relevant health related field with


technical experience required


o Master's degree in Exercise Science or relevant health related field with technical


experience required (Level II)

Licenses and Certification

o Current BLS


o ACLS within 6 months of hire

Experience and Skills

o Technical Experience: 1 years in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation preferred


o Knowledge of electrocardiograph interpretation preferred

Physical Activities

o Intermittent hand manipulation required


o Intermittent lifting and carrying of 20 pounds

Role Specific Responsibilities

o Performs and implements specific levels of exercise based on protocols


and guidelines for activity of patients.


o Provides supervision to assistants and students.


o Provides education and marketing support.


o Participates with the multidisciplinary teams.


o Conducts routine exercise tests and prepares exercise programs


o Trains and demonstrates proper exercise techniques and equipment use to


patient population


o Knowledge in exercise prescription in clinical populations, muscular


anatomy, passive and active range of motion


o Level II: Trains with a certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist for 600


documented clinical hours holding a master's degree and 1200


documented clinical hours holding a bachelor's degree, within a one-year


period of time while learning to develop, implement, and coordinate


exercise programs and administer medical tests under physician's


supervision.


o Level II: Required to pass American College of Sports Medicine (ASCM)


Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) certification exam within


one year of moving to Level II

$20.19 - $31.29
