Job Description


The Xbox Programming and Events team is searching for an Executive Producer who is passionate about video and multimedia storytelling to oversee the strategy and creation of high-quality and meaningful bespoke content that moves the needle for Gaming Marketing at Xbox. Examples of content overseen by the team include high quality documentary films, unscripted content programming, live broadcasts, working with Extended Reality (XR) and state of the art technology, and more.

From concept to completion, the Executive Producer - Xbox will collaborate and work closely with the Head of Content Development, executives, developers, business and technical teams, and marketing partners to execute scalable content that celebrates Team Xbox, the gaming community and reaches new audiences on new platforms around the globe.

They will also lead the charge on developing a strategy that brings consistency across bespoke content development. They will bring a diverse games and platform portfolio together into a cohesive programming strategy that meets both the needs and rhythm of the content and the expectations of the community.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategy, development, and execution of new content for Team Xbox, with an emphasis on bespoke content (short-form digital and branded, documentary, animation, unscripted and scripted).
  • Work directly with a variety of external creative agencies to create a diverse range of content that speaks to both broad and more specific audiences.
  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with key Microsoft partners, both internal and external.
  • Collaborate with premier platform partners to broaden our audience touch-points like Netflix, Disney, Amazon Prime, etc.
  • Responsible for negotiating content deliverables that align with our current budget climate.
  • Under the Head of Content Development this role will oversee the day-to-day execution, performance and growth of bespoke content, integrating endemic and non-endemic advertising sponsors into multimedia campaigns and managing curation of Xbox audio programming channels, like Spotify, Apple, Amazon Music, etc.
  • Supervise execution of a weekly editorial content series.
  • Grow engagement across Xbox services, enhance the overall content offering and develop solutions that can scale appropriate to the content.
  • Develop new multimedia content and storytelling techniques to engage new audiences.
  • Establish and maintain consistent processes for content creation that are repeatable across franchises and platforms.
  • Manage vendors and expand external production companies to deliver high-quality, and efficient solutions.
  • Provide thought-leadership for the state of content creation, including trends related to content creators, multimedia sponsorship integration, game developers/publishers, innovations in production technology and platforms, etc.
  • Manage a team of media production professionals, including editors, producers, production crews, etc.
  • Managing and updating program budgets and milestones.
  • Track the success/metrics and key learnings for all-up programs and individual campaigns or projects.
  • Regularly pitch, update and consult Head of Content Development and leadership.
  • Demonstrate production management capabilities which include the ability to execute productions from treatment to delivery.
Qualifications:

Required/Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Marketing, Film, TV, Media, Broadcast and/or Video Production, Publishing, Communication or related field AND 5+ years of experience in business
  • OR Master\'s Degree in Marketing, Film, TV, Media, Broadcast and/or Video Production, Publishing, Communication or related field AND 3+ years\' professional experience
  • Or equivalent experience within related fields producing high-quality content in the entertainment, games, or sports industries
  • Experience with co-marketing content and working with other brands to develop partnership media.
  • 2+ years of demonstrated financial and project management, including managing and updating program budgets and milestones.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing audio programming content and using music for content marketing efforts.
  • Established leadership, creative communication, program management and project management skills.
  • Deep knowledge and experience in video storytelling in the video gaming industry.
  • Ability to identify and rationalize the range of success metrics for constituent stakeholders.
  • Willingness to be innovative and accept and learn from failure.
Product Marketing IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $101,200 - $194,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $130,000 - $213,200 per year.
