Head Housekeeper Overview

Your leadership is essential to the smooth operation of the hotel. As Head Housekeeper, you are responsible for supervising, training, and working alongside your team to ensure every guest room is flawlessly cleaned and maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

Resolve guest concerns promptly to ensure a positive experience. Maintain exceptional cleanliness, sanitation, and organization across all assigned areas. Stay fully informed on room status: review A.M. reports, identify discrepancies, and prioritize check-outs. Verify staff attendance and document tardiness or absences. Coordinate staff breaks and distribute daily assignments, adjusting workloads as needed. Issue guest room keys and communication devices; monitor usage and uphold security protocols. Communicate updates or changes to assignments throughout the shift. Monitor supply levels in floor closets and assign staff to replenish as necessary. Inspect Room Attendant carts for proper stocking, cleanliness, and functionality. Review completed rooms using checklists; communicate deficiencies and ensure corrections. Update room status once cleanliness and condition meet departmental standards. Verify vacant and "Do Not Disturb" rooms, resolving any discrepancies. Conduct random checks to ensure linens are changed appropriately; provide coaching when needed. Inspect public areas--including restrooms, fitness center, pool, offices, and service spaces--after cleaning and address issues directly. Submit maintenance work orders and coordinate with Engineering for urgent repairs. Train assigned staff and provide performance feedback to management. Report disciplinary concerns and assist with employee counseling. Record key information in the department logbook. Complete all paperwork and end-of-shift responsibilities before departure. Review assignment progress and follow-up needs with management or incoming supervisors. Confirm accuracy and completeness of P.M. reports.
