Wadena Housing & Redevelopment Authority, located in Wadena, Minnesota, is dedicated to providing quality housing solutions and redevelopment services. The organization serves the community by addressing housing needs through affordable housing options and valuable resources. Wadena HRA owns and manages public housing, multifamily Section 8 properties, and market-rate housing, while administering housing choice vouchers and additional supportive programs.

Position Summary

The

Executive Director (ED)

serves as the

Chief Executive Officer

of the Wadena Housing & Redevelopment Authority, responsible for the overall administration, management, and operation of the agency's housing programs, personnel, and finances. The ED ensures compliance with all

HUD regulations

,

federal and state laws

, and

local policies

governing public housing, voucher programs, multifamily PBRA, and other housing programs.

The ED provides strategic leadership and direction to achieve the Housing Authority's mission of providing safe, decent, and affordable housing and community development services that promote stability and growth within the City of Wadena and surrounding areas. The position reports directly to the

Board of Commissioners

and implements Board policies through effective management of staff, budgets, and programs.

Qualifications

Proven leadership, management, and organizational skills with experience in a supervisory or executive capacity Strong knowledge of housing policies, regulations, and programs, including public housing management, housing choice vouchers, and Section 8 Experience in budgeting, financial oversight, and grant writing Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building abilities Problem-solving and strategic planning skills to achieve organizational goals Experience working with diverse populations in a community-focused setting Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Management, Urban Planning, or

ive (5) years of progressively responsible management experience in public housing, affordable housing, or related field. Familiarity with federal, state, and local housing and redevelopment regulations is highly desirable.
