The Executive Director is the chief executive officer of St. Martin de Porres Residence, Inc. and shall be responsible for the management of St. Martin de Porres Residence, Inc. and represent the St. Martin de Porres Residence Inc. to professional and Church groups. The Executive Director serves as an ex-officio member of all committees. The Executive Director is accountable to the Board of Directors through the chairperson or a designee.
Essential Functions:
Develop and administer Ministry programs in accordance with the general purpose and policies established by the Board of Directors.
Recommend to the Board of Directors changes in the strategic plan and other actions needed to further the mission of St. Martin de Porres Residence, Inc.
Implement the strategic plan and policies adopted by the Board of Directors.
Develop and implement an annual fundraising strategy with the approval of the Board of Directors. Works closely with the development Committee.
Prepare the Ministry budget. Responsible for administering Ministry programs within budgetary provisions. Maintain an adequate accounting/bookkeeping system. Conduct periodic budget projections for Board review. Mindful of budget limits, works closely with the Finance Committee, Treasurer and Shelter Operations Manager. Present a current financial statement at each meeting of the Board of Directors. Keep Directors informed of possible funding sources.
Manage personnel, including hiring of Shelter Operations Manager. Delegating tasks; developing and administering sound personnel practices; performance evaluations; encouraging staff participation in formulation of program procedures and policies.
Participate as the official ministry representative on pertinent community task forces, committees and Boards seeking to advocate for low-income people, thus reflecting the Ministry's concern for Gospel values and Social Justice. Inform the Board of Directors of changes in government regulations and policies, in the field of human services within the community, that may impact Ministry programs.
Communicate with the Board of Directors, ensuring that the Ministry's stated mission and purpose is accomplished.
