DESCRIPTION:

Overview

CDCAA seeks a dynamic and strategic Executive Director to lead and manage all agency operations. The Executive Director will be responsible for fulfilling the organization's mission to address the causes and conditions of poverty and will serve as the chief administrator, carrying out the strategic direction set by the Board of Directors. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in nonprofit leadership, a thorough knowledge of Community Action programs, and proven expertise in the Results-Oriented Management and Accountability (ROMA) framework.

Essential duties and responsibilities

Strategic leadership and board governance



Provide visionary leadership and direction to ensure that the agency's mission and strategic goals are met. Serve as the primary liaison between the staff and the Board of Directors, ensuring consistent communication and providing timely, accurate information to support informed decision-making. Facilitate the development and implementation of the agency's strategic plan and long-range goals. Recruit, onboard, and engage new board members and support board committees.

Program management and ROMA implementation



Oversee all agency programs and services to ensure they align with the Community Action mission and respond effectively to community needs. Integrate the Results-Oriented Management and Accountability (ROMA) framework throughout all agency operations. Develop and implement program evaluation systems and utilize measurable outcome indicators to track progress and report regularly to the board and funders. Ensure program compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal standards, regulations, and reporting requirements.

Financial oversight and resource development



Ensure the fiscal stability and health of the agency by overseeing all financial operations, including the development of annual budgets and management of internal controls. Lead comprehensive fund development strategies, including grant writing, major donor cultivation, and strategic partnerships. Identify and leverage multiple funding sources, including private grants, federal and state opportunities, and local resources.

Personnel and operations management



Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to the senior management team and staff to foster a high-performance culture aligned with the agency's mission. Ensure the agency maintains a positive, respectful, and accountable work environment. Oversee human resources functions, including recruitment, hiring, and performance management.

Community and public relations



Serve as the agency's chief spokesperson, representing the organization to the community, public officials, funders, and other stakeholders. Build and maintain collaborative community partnerships to maximize resources and address community needs. Direct all communications and public relations strategies to increase community awareness and support.
Required qualifications and experience

Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Social Work, Nonprofit Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred. Minimum of five years of relevant, progressively responsible experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity within a nonprofit or social service organization. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with Community Action programming and philosophy. Extensive experience with the Results-Oriented Management and Accountability (ROMA) framework, including planning, evaluation, and reporting. Proven experience working effectively with and reporting to a nonprofit Board of Directors. Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and oversight of grant-funded programs. Exceptional written, oral, and public speaking skills, with the ability to communicate persuasively to diverse audiences. Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate staff, volunteers, and the community. Working knowledge of federal and state programs for low-income individuals and families. Ability to relate to and build relationships with individuals and groups across various socio-economic backgrounds
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
