Job Description

Position Summary

The Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing revitalization activities consistent with the Main Street Four-Point Approach--Organization, Promotion, Design, and Economic Vitality. This dynamic leader will guide the program's strategic vision, manage daily operations, and serve as the primary spokesperson and liaison between the community, local government, and regional partners.

This position requires a collaborative, community-minded professional with strong organizational leadership, fundraising, and economic development experience. The ideal candidate brings creativity, compassion, and a passion for urban revitalization.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Management



Oversee all administrative, operational, and programmatic functions of the Mainstreet organization.

Lead implementation of the annual work plan and long-term strategic goals.

Supervise staff, volunteers, and interns while fostering a positive, inclusive culture.

Manage the organization's budget, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.

Community Engagement & Partnerships



Build and maintain strong relationships with business owners, residents, developers, civic leaders, and City of Orlando departments.

Serve as a visible, approachable advocate for the West Lakes District.

Coordinate volunteer committees aligned with the Main Street Four Points.

Organize community meetings, workshops, and public engagement activities.

Economic Development



Work with business owners and property owners to encourage business retention, expansion, and recruitment.

Facilitate improvement projects, facade programs, and corridor enhancement initiatives.

Promote local entrepreneurship, creative placemaking, and equitable investment.

Marketing & Promotion



Develop and implement marketing and promotional strategies that enhance district visibility and attract visitors.

Plan and execute community events, festivals, and campaigns that celebrate West Lakes culture and commerce.

Collaborate with local media, marketing partners, and social media outlets.

Fundraising & Resource Development



Secure public and private funding through grants, sponsorships, and partnerships.

Cultivate donor relationships and manage fundraising campaigns.

Ensure transparent reporting and responsible stewardship of resources.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Economic Development, Nonprofit Management, Marketing, or a related field.

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in community development, downtown revitalization, nonprofit leadership, or economic development.

Familiarity with the Main Street America Four-Point Approach and Florida Main Street programs strongly preferred.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated success in fundraising, grant writing, and financial management.

Strong interpersonal, leadership, and project management skills.

Passion for community building, equity, and historic preservation.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000 annually, commensurate with experience

Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, paid leave, and professional development support. 20% of Salary contingent on matching fundraising requirements

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
