Emporia State University is seeking a visionary, strategic, and results-driven Executive Director of Marketing to lead the university's brand development, marketing strategy, and promotional efforts. This position is responsible for building a dynamic, data-informed marketing operation that supports student recruitment, enhances institutional visibility, and strengthens brand reputation across all audiences-prospective students, alumni, donors, and the broader public.?

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive, integrated division strategy that aligns with institutional/ enrollment priorities and strike zone programs. Oversee all marketing functions, including digital marketing, brand management, public relations, social media, events and outreach, and other duties as assigned. Build and manage a high-performing marketing team, fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Manage all communications to ensure alignment with institutional tone and messaging. Supervise marketing outsourced services and strategy execution. Collaborate with campus and community stakeholders to support strategic campaigns and initiatives. Develop initiatives that strengthen connections with students, alumni and community through events. Utilize data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns, optimize marketing performance, and inform future strategies. Manage marketing budgets, contracts with external vendors/agencies, and project timelines to ensure high-impact results on schedule and within budget. Serve as a senior advisor to the Chief Marketing Officer on institutional positioning and reputation management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, business, or related field (Master's preferred). Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in marketing leadership. Proven expertise in strategic planning, digital marketing, brand development, and team management. Strong analytical skills and experience with marketing technology platforms and performance metrics. Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.

COMPENSATION:

Salary: $86,086 - $137,709 annually Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
