Amazing opportunity for talented Executive Chef in New York City

The Collective Kitchen NYC is looking for an Executive Chef 1 - Commissary to join our culinary team at our Commissary in Long Island City, New York.

We are looking for someone who pushes the boundaries and can think outside the box. We are looking for a leader who can adapt to an ever-changing culture and client base, gets excitement out of a challenge, while at the same time can coach and mentor a team to work together for one goal \xe2\x80\x93 creating amazing food from the highest quality ingredients to refresh energize and inspire our guests.

The Executive Chef 1 Commissary will support the commissary kitchen including the execution of the daily production , food cost management, training of culinary staff and overseeing the food safety program with a focus on excellent food. Our ideal candidate will be innovative, keeping services fresh and updated based on current trends.

We are looking for candidates who will:

  • Manage daily food production that includes production planning, preparation and food safety controls
  • Ensure that Culinary Standards are maintained, which includes recipe compliance, food quality and food safety
  • Be hands on in the kitchen
  • Oversee ordering and inventory management
  • Support the training and development of the culinary staff
  • Have oversight of day-to-day operations, ensuring flow of production, food, staff and safety
The ideal candidate:
  • Has a work history demonstrating strong leadership skills, as well as previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively
  • Has ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service
  • Can demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed

Provides culinary leadership within a small sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training. Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution

-Manages food & physical safety program. Qualifications & Requirements:

Basic Education Requirement - Associate\'s Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience \xe2\x80\x93 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
