Job Description

The Lobby is a brunch restaurant by day, and event center by night, located in the heart of Downtown Denver. We are seeking a full-time Event Manager to be a part of our leadership team. We are looking for a long term candidate that wants to grow within the organization. This position will be in charge of the events team, responding to event leads, private event sales & execution, and assisting in full-service operations.

This is a hybrid sales + operations + leadership position. You'll be the primary point of contact for all private events (corporate buyouts, weddings, celebrations, rehearsals, holiday parties, etc.), responsible for selling, planning, and flawlessly executing them. When there are no events, you'll jump into a full-service management role alongside our GM and leadership team.

This is a salaried position, with commission on event sales + a share of event service charges. Eager and effective sales persons can exceed estimated salary range.

What You'll Do



Sales & Business Development



Actively sell the venue through inbound leads, site tours, cold outreach, and networking Create custom proposals, menus, and floor plans Close contracts and collect deposits/payments on time Continue a pattern of continuous growth within our events program Co-create wedding and holiday packages with our Operating Partner/Director of Events

Event Planning & Execution



Own final detailing (10 business days out) and day-of leadership for 85%+ of events Expedite plated dinners, buffets, direct staff, and solve problems in real time Manage and work along with our Banquet Captain to execute events from start to finish Ensure every event is successful and exceeds client expectations

Full-Service Operations Support



The Events Manager will support the GM and other managers during full-service operations. They will be asked to fill in during vacations, or sick time amongst the management team Assist in maintaining operational and customer service standards

Marketing & Community



Create social media content and collaborate with our marketing team Lead off-site philanthropic and networking events Build and maintain an email list with monthly blasts

Who You Are



4+ years of full-service restaurant employment history 2+ years of event management or banquet captain experience Extremely organized with strong follow-up (you live in Tripleseat or similar software) Natural leader who can direct 10+ staff during events while staying present-minded and guest-focused Comfortable selling in-person and over the phone without supervision Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed (45-50 hrs/week average; mixture of on-site and remote admin) Professional appearance and demeanor at all times Positive, self-motivated, and eager to tackle challenges
Bonus Points If You Have

A background in restaurant managemnt Experience with Tripleseat, Google Workspace, and spreadsheet software Experience with event AV setup and execution

Pay: $67,000.00 - $79,000.00 per year
