Realize Bradenton is seeking a creative and energetic
Event Manager
to lead the development, execution, and evaluation of diverse community events and activations. This role is vital in promoting downtown Bradenton as a premier destination to live, work, and play by fostering collaboration among arts, culture, and heritage partners. You will also provide oversight of our Bradenton Area Explorer (Visit Widget digital wayfinding system) to ensure visitors can easily navigate our vibrant downtown.
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Operational Logistics
End-to-End Coordination:
Research, propose, execute, and evaluate event initiatives from start to finish.
Program Management:
Develop and maintain ongoing programs and new activations.
Tactical Execution:
Implement project management tools, including task lists, setup/breakdown plans, run sheets, and timelines.
Permits & Services:
Secure necessary approvals and coordinate essential services like police, sanitation, and street closures.
Budgeting:
Plan and monitor event budgets and agendas while supervising external vendors.
Volunteer Leadership:
Recruit and coordinate volunteers to ensure smooth day of execution.
Collaboration & Innovation
Strategic Partnerships:
Work with government entities, non-profits, and businesses.
Internal Teamwork:
Collaborate with the Realize Bradenton team to define objectives, target audiences, and communication strategies.
Continuous Improvement:
Complete post-event evaluation reports and research new ideas to keep events fresh.
Bradenton Area Explorer Digital Wayfinding System
System Oversight:
Maintain a full working knowledge of the Bradenton Area Explorer (Visit Widget digital wayfinding system).
Content Management:
Ensure all digital information is current and accurate.
Promotion:
Partner with the team to market and promote the use of the wayfinding system.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience:
2+ years of experience in a similar event-focused role.
Communication:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Soft Skills:
Ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment and work independently with high self-motivation.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
Detail Oriented:
Demonstrated ability for accuracy and thoroughness.
