We are seeking a creative Event Designer to join our team at Peter Corvallis Productions, a leading provider of special event design and decor. This role is a unique blend of artistry and client relations, responsible for designing, and executing decor for a diverse range of corporate events, weddings, and social gatherings. The ideal candidate is a passionate, client-focused professional with a proven track record in the special events industry.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Creativity:
Conceptualize, design, and build original and thematic decor, props, and rental items for client events.
Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and translate it into a compelling, cohesive design.
Create detailed design plans, including mood boards, layouts, and bids.
Sales & Client Relations:
Meet with new, existing, and potential clients to present decor services and bid on event designs.
Build strong, lasting relationships with clients and provide exceptional customer service.
Maintain vendor relationships to source materials and coordinate with subcontractors.
Event Execution:
Manage and oversee on-site setup and teardown of event decor.
Lead and manage a creative team to ensure smooth event execution.
Coordinate with internal teams, including dispatch and warehouse staff, regarding equipment and orders.
Inventory & Operations:
Oversee the check-in, check-out, and maintenance of all rental equipment.
Organize and manage the prop and decor room inventory.
Assist with facility tours and maintain the showroom and its displays.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum 1 years of experience in event design or events, with a portfolio of successful events.
Technical Proficiency:
Strong command of design software (Adobe Creative Suite, CAD) and Google Workspace.
Creativity:
An innovative and artistic mindset with a keen eye for detail.
Communication:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Adaptability:
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure, and deadline-driven environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift approximately 60 lbs. and work a flexible schedule, including weekends and overtime.
Licensing:
Valid driver's license.
Desired Qualifications
Existing network and familiarity with event venues in Portland.
Anyone with experience as a decorator, visual merchandising, event planner, or party planner is a great candidate.
