We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Evening Shift Caregivers to provide exceptional support and care to our residents in a community-focused environment. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for helping others, especially those experienced in senior care, memory care, or working with individuals with disabilities. The caregiver will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents during evening hours, fostering a warm and supportive atmosphere.
Duties
Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
Monitor residents' health status by observing and recording vital signs and overall condition
Administer medications following prescribed care plans and HIPAA guidelines
Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, promoting social engagement
Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed, ensuring dietary restrictions are followed
Maintain cleanliness of resident living areas, including light housekeeping and sanitation tasks
Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices safely and effectively
Follow individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs, including dementia or Alzheimer's care
Document observations accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies
Respond promptly to emergencies or changes in resident condition, utilizing CPR or first aid skills when necessary
Requirements
Prior experience in senior care, assisted living, home health, hospice care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism preferred
Knowledge of patient observation, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and dementia or memory care techniques
Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are highly desirable
Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and assist with transfers using Hoyer lifts or similar equipment
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and family members
Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve residents' quality of life
Ability to work evening shifts reliably and maintain professional standards of confidentiality under HIPAA regulations
Experience working within care plans and understanding of long-term care practices is a plus
