Conducts mental health screening evaluations and determines and implements appropriate dispositions. Responsible for initial assessment of emergency room patients to include emergency mental status evaluations and dispositions recommendation assessments to identify appropriate resource utilization, discharge planning needs, mental health care needs and available related community resources.

Bachelor's degree
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Nursing or closely aligned human services discipline.
Necessary Skills:
1. Ability to perform verbal and written communication.
2. Ability to write proficient clinical notes
3. Must be able to communicate and write English clearly, legibly and correctly at the college graduate level in order to make entries in the records of persons served.
4. Documentation and paperwork must meet internal and external guidelines for content, accuracy and timeliness.
5. Ability to recognize emergencies and life-threatening situations and respond appropriately.
6. Ability to make clinical decisions affecting the lives of clients.
7. Proficiency in EPIC, Microsoft Office Programs, Outlook, Excel and use of the Internet.
8. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to complete duties
9. Must make sound decisions independently on a daily basis, including but not limited to completing tasks, recognizing emergencies, safety risks, and life-threatening situations and responding appropriately
10. Must be able to interact appropriately with internal and external customers, including families, caregivers, community service providers, supervisory staff and other department professionals.
11. Maintains working knowledge of departmental policies and procedures.
12. Maintains current knowledge of the Baker Act, new forms or procedures, etc.
Required Licensure/Certifications:
Crisis Prevention Institute training or Aggression Control training is required within ninety (90) days of date of hire or transfer, and annually thereafter, for the Psych Unit.
Preferred Licensure/Certifications:
LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, RNC, RN
Required Experience:
Two to four (2-4) years experience working with the chronically mentally ill population
Preferred Experience:
Over 5 years working with chronically mentally ill population in emergency crisis setting.
